One of my sons is engaged and. The other day, he and his fiancee had an engagement ceremony called Yuino. Yuino, though not as common as it used to be, is a long tradition in Japan. Families of both sides get together to celebrate the engagement and exchange symbolic gifts in a formal way. We did it at a hotel restaurant in Tokyo.
